Learn fundamental oncoplastic techniques designed to help improve aesthetic outcomes for patients undergoing breast cancer surgery. This hybrid course combines foundational online education with hands-on skills training, giving surgeons who are new to oncoplastic surgery practical techniques they can begin incorporating into their practice.
Breast cancer surgery requires balancing effective oncologic treatment with thoughtful consideration of breast contour, scar placement, and aesthetic outcomes.
Designed for general and breast surgeons who have not previously performed oncoplastic surgery, this course provides an introduction to the principles and techniques that can help surgeons incorporate aesthetic considerations into breast cancer surgical planning.
Through online learning and an in-person hands-on skills lab, participants will explore patient assessment and selection, surgical planning, incision placement, tissue management, and commonly used oncoplastic techniques.
Participants will build foundational knowledge and practical skills in oncoplastic breast surgery, including:
What You'll Gain
- Foundational oncoplastic surgical skills for breast cancer care
- Confidence in patient selection and surgical planning
- Techniques to improve lumpectomy and aesthetic outcomes
- Hands-on experience with tissue displacement and mammaplasty techniques
- Strategies for managing contour, scars, and excess tissue in breast surgery

Build foundational knowledge without assuming previous experience performing oncoplastic procedures.
Learn how surgical planning, incision placement, tissue management, and breast anatomy can influence both cancer treatment and aesthetic outcomes.
Move beyond lectures by practicing skin marking, glandular displacement, incision placement, and commonly used mammaplasty techniques during the in-person skills lab.
Focus on foundational approaches that can help improve lumpectomy results and manage common aesthetic challenges encountered during breast cancer surgery.
This course is designed for general and breast surgeons who have not previously performed oncoplastic surgery and want to develop a foundation in commonly used techniques.
No. The course is specifically designed for surgeons who have never performed oncoplastic surgery.
The course combines recorded didactic lectures, available two weeks before the course, with an in-person hands-on surgical skills lab in Atlanta.
Hands-on training will include skin marking, glandular displacement techniques for intramammary flaps, aesthetic incision placement, and periareolar, crescent, and donut mammaplasty techniques.
Yes. In addition to techniques designed to improve partial mastectomy outcomes, the course addresses management of excess skin and tissue during simple mastectomy without reconstruction and approaches to aesthetic flat closure.
