Biography

I am a specialist in neurosurgery, orthopaedic surgery and trauma surgery, and have been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2018. I serve as Head of the Spine Center and Deputy Head of the Department of Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery at Klinik Oberwart, Austria, alongside my private practice in Vienna. My clinical focus spans conservative treatment, minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery, and complex spinal reconstruction. I treat degenerative spinal conditions, scoliosis and spinal deformities, spinal trauma, and tumors of the spine and spinal cord, including intradural lesions. My practice also includes neuromodulation, particularly spinal cord stimulation for chronic pain. I hold the Master Certificate of the German Spine Society (DWG) and lecture at the Medical University of Vienna. I am actively involved in research and international surgical education, including hands-on training in endoscopic spine surgery and neuromodulation. Beyond my surgical practice, I serve as Chief Medical Officer at Heli Austria and Medical Director of PHTLS Austria (Prehospital Trauma Life Support). These roles reflect my commitment to prehospital trauma care, medical education and patient safety. My clinical approach combines evidence-based medicine, multidisciplinary collaboration and shared decision-making, with the goal of preserving neurological function and improving quality of life.
