ACS H.O.P.E.® (Health Outreach Program for Equity in Global Surgery) released its 2025–2026 Annual Report, highlighting the organization’s achievements and milestones.

In this period, ACS H.OP.E. expanded its efforts to strengthen surgical systems, develop the surgical workforce, and improve access to high-quality care worldwide. Through long-term partnerships grounded in local leadership, the program advanced surgical education and specialty care in Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Zambia while expanding educational and professional development opportunities for surgeons globally.

The ACS H.O.P.E. Surgical Training Collaboratives remained a cornerstone of this work. Despite infectious disease outbreaks and regional instability that disrupted some travel, volunteers completed 32 trips and 131 teaching experiences, contributing clinical hours and monetary donations while helping achieve important clinical milestones.

The organization also invested in the next generation of surgical leaders. The new Global Health in Surgery Certificate Program welcomed 34 inaugural scholars across eight specialties, while the first ACS–West African College of Surgeons Surgical Leadership Course trained 26 surgeons in Ghana.

Additional investments included resident research scholarships, Clinical Congress scholarships, quality improvement grants, and support for women pursuing surgical training through the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa.
